Reviews
Voices from the review desk
Comments reference specific modules and features from our programmes. We keep mild caveats in place — nothing is perfect on day one.
“Module 3 on evidence packs changed how we attach support to reversing journals. I still wish the sample dataset had more intercompany examples, but the structure stuck.”
“Rating: 4 / 5 — Exception Pattern Reading helped our shared service catch duplicate accrual posts. The live clinic ran long, which was fine for us.”
“Tom in Manchester here — Reviewer Cadence Studio gave our team a Tuesday ritual that actually survived January. Not flashy. Just usable.”
“Client in professional services: the journal entry audit app filters finally made sense after the Ledger Integrity Workshop. Onboarding juniors is less tribal now.”
Case study
Regional retailer, four entities
A South West retail group joined a Practice Lab after their year-end review flagged inconsistent manual journal narratives. Over six weeks they mapped posting sources, standardised evidence folders inside their journal entry audit app, and cut open questions from external auditors by roughly a third compared with the prior year.
The sticking point was master data: store codes lived in three formats. Once that was cleaned, sampling recommendations from the app aligned with what the controller expected. They still manually override high-value property accruals — by design.
Case study
Charity finance team, single entity
A mid-sized charity used Field Notes before upgrading two staff into Audit Desk. Their constraint was volunteer-heavy approval chains. The programme’s limitation note — that app scoring cannot replace trustee review of restricted funds — matched their governance model. They kept a dual sign-off outside the tool and used the courses mainly for exception triage.
